  • Doyard

Champagne Doyard started to produce its own champagne in 1927 whereas they have been a winegrower family for 12 generations. The domain, that is today run by Yannick Doyard and his son Charles, is located on the best terroir of Côtes des blancs with plots in Vertus, Mesnisl-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. It owns also 1ha parcel in the best location of Ay where it grows pinot noir. The domain is highly focused on quality keeping the best juice (only 1st press) and selling the remaining to the big champagne brands. Even though not organic certified, viticulture uses no herbicide or pesticide and some principles of biodynamic regime are followed. Finally, Doyard who vinifies its wines in stainless vats and oak barels always leave the time to the wines to age a minimum of 4 years. As a result, Doyard champagnes are some of the best wines of this region.

  • Guiborat

Acquired in 1885, this family house located in the Côte des Blancs grows 8 hectares including 4 hectares in the Grand Crus of Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry. The philosophy : Let human hands be as gentle as possible in order to express all potential brought together by this exceptional chalky terroir, chardonnay grapes and old vines. First and foremost respectful of nature’s gifts, Richard Fouquet has been making neat wines since 1996. The focus is on top quality as only the best grappes are used to produce their champagne while the remaining is sold to the big champagne producers.

  • Lancelot-Pienne

Representing the fourth generation, Gilles Lancelot is a trained oenologist, who farms a fairly modest eight hectares, half of which are in Cramant itself, the other half in the Vallée de la Marne, the latter an excellent source for Pinot Meunier, which pays a key role in the Cuvée Tradition. The house philosophy, apart from the somewhat inevitable borrowing from Arthurian legend in the naming of its wines, favors relatively late picking, low dosage and several interesting innovations, such as the use of a Solera in its wines. Whilst, somewhat unsurprisingly, there is a focus on Grand Cru and high quality Chardonnay in the range, Pinot Noir is far from forgotten, making up half the blend in the Cuvée Perceval, which underlines both the skill and the versatility of this exemplary house.
